The False Spring Queen is a mini-album about regrowth, about the ways in which I've been saved, about the calming effect the Spring Equinox has on my very soul. It's an inherently flawed narrative about the heroic nature of girlhood. It's trying to teach myself how to cry again. It's picking up a guitar for the first time in five years. It's trashing my entire wardrobe on a whim. It's saying no to the blackout nights that almost killed me. It's spending a summer laughing comfortably, with flowers in my hair and the wind ruffling my dress as I sip on a beer, thanking myself for not giving up and ending it all. It's for you, for everyone who has sheltered me with their kindness and hospitality. Thank you.
